Jacob at six months

Tonight, after my bath, I looked in Jacobs crib to find him laying there, awake in the dark.  It startled me; I thought he was asleep.  He is the mellowest baby I have ever encountered.  I picked him up and we laid on my bed and listened to music.  He didn’t require anything.  He just laid next to me and looked around.  Once in a while, he would look at me and grab my cheek.  But, mostly, he didn’t move a muscle.  This kid totally loves music.  My boss thinks it’s because even in the womb, Jacob has pretty much constantly listened to music.  Maybe.  Earlier today, he thought that me saying the word “puppy” was hilarious.  Every time I said it he would crack up while drool streamed down his chin.  He even lost his breath he was laughing so hard.  It was super adorable.  He knows his name and looks at me when I call it out.  He is grabbing everything and has added high-pitched screams to his jibber-jabber.  Some people say he sounds like a bird.  He likes oatmeal, sweet potatoes and bananas, but he didn’t do so well with apples.    At six months, his alien hand syndrome is almost curedJ  He has made two escapes from his baby swing.  The first escape occurred while I took puppy out to grab the mail.  He was on the floor when I got back inside just cooing away on his tummy.  The second escape occurred while we were getting ready for the day.  He started crying and we all rushed to him with a group hug and he was fine.  The swing isn’t high up; I think he was just startled.  He has lost almost all of his newborn hair and has all new strawberry blonde coming in.  He looks so much different than when he was born.  He's been having a rough time with his teeth.  I got him a teething necklace from the UK that’s unpolished Baltic Amber.  Allegedly, when it touches his skin, it warms up and releases the essential oils to sooth pain.  I’m not sure how much it’s soothing him, but it is certainly adorable..
